Well hello there!

My husband and I are a young married couple, living on a student budget. We started this blog because we wanted to share the little information we know.
We don't claim to be experts, we are learning as we go. (We didn't know anything before we were married!) We believe in baby steps. We didn't learn these things in one day. While on this self-reliance journey one thing we have realized is food storage, and being prepared doesn’t have to be scary, or cost a lot of money!
It has also saved our butts numerous times. Before we have reached our one year anniversary, Calvin was in a serious bike crash and couldn't work. At the same time, I had a demandind unpaid internship for four months. Because of this, we had to use both our food storage and our savings. Since then, we have used our food storage and financial savings more than once when unforeseen emergencies come barreling our way. Boy were we glad we had it!
During times most people would be panicking, we felt peace.
Peace is good.
We like peace, happiness, outdoor hikes, pillow fights, and tortillas.
Some things we’ve noticed about this whole preparedness thing:
Don’t be afraid to learn  new things
Start where you can
Store what you eat, eat what you store
Food storage and preparedness is not a “one-size-fits-all” type of thing, so find out what works for you.
The hardest part about preparedness is overcoming the myths and stereotypes that surround it
*We have labeled posts "Level 1", "Level 3" etc so readers can know the level of difficulty. Some preparedness and self-reliance activities are  more difficult/expensive than others. There is something for everyone!

If you have any comments or questions, we'd love to hear them.
Thanks for stopping by!
